My reflections
The painting vividly illustrates the scene of the well-known story, the Trojan Horse. The author of this painting uses the image to express not only the visual scene but also the atmosphere in the story.
The horse in the middle of the painting is the focus of the image. It has a lifelike muscle curve and bristle. The gestures of the people are cheerful, and a kind of ignorant of what’s going to happen to their city. Although the whole painting is bright, there is a black shadow on the top of the wooden horse. The shadow may signify the coming disaster brought by the horse or the ferocious mood of the warriors in the horse.
The audio tour uses a piece of music to guide us into the painting, and into the stomach of the horse, and then it bounce back to the hustle and bustle. There are also some sound effects of sharpening knives, inferring that a big fight is around the corner.
In a word, this audio tour indeed makes me understand more about the Trojan Horse by Matthew Davies, and I can take a leaf out of his book.
