[作業-學習心得] 參觀朱銘美術館2

This is the second time for me to visit Ju-Ming Museum. What makes this visit special is the new artworks of Living World Series -Imprisonment. There are four "jails", and one of them is black and white with two people imprisoned in it.
When I first saw this sculpture, a word came to my mind---"separate". Some say "every body is like an island." It is not a maxim, but from time to time I think of this sentence, and can not deny it. We are in an age of internet, and communication has been easier and easier for modern people, but we are getting lonelier and lonelier. I can tell it by the increasing rate of divorce and there are more people than ever who are addicted in the internet, connecting to the virtual world instead of real world, real person.
Ju-Ming's artwork may convey similar messages. Even though two people are in one jail, they still have their own "territories". However, this kind of boundary is invisible and can be broken only if we step forward, reaching our hands to each other.
There is a stele on the floor of the jail, saying " The hell is in the world, and paradise is there, too. Wherever you go is depending on your minds."(地獄在人間,人間有天堂,問君何處去?但憑一念間) It needs just a thought to come down from your fences and embrace this world. I hope I can keep this thought in mind.
