My reflections
The introduction shows us that Vincent Van Gogh draws this picture in a dark and cold atmosphere. The shape of the clouds shows that he is dizzy, crazy, and confused. The shape of the rocks is just like the shape of fire and it is hiding the sun.
I think that the audio tour is good. In addition to the introduction, the background music really gives me the imaginative space. The cold wind blows, the scary scream, and the sound of the big storm. All the sounds from the nature can be heard in this audio tour. It lets me feel like living in that picture.

My reflections
When I first saw this painting , 'The Louvre Under Snow' , I felt cool ,because the white snow covered the whole painting except a bit of red. To me, the painting is still. They are frozen by the snow. However, I founded that the introduction made by the audio tour is totally different from my viewpoint. She describes the painting with activated diction as if every item in the work is flowing with the river. The description of this work is beautiful and vivid. It seems that I were there.

My reflections
The introduction of the picture I introduce is quite queer. When I first saw this picture, I thought it is about four cute little children. But after I read the introduction to the picture, I finally understand that the children in the picture are made of wax! This picture is telling us that the children in white dress have long distance from happy childhood. Their smile is just like angels. Different from other children, the baby sitting on the chair raises her hand. As if she were looking forward to the heaven.
I think the introduction about this picture is very important to me. If I just look at the picture, I won’t realize that the meaning is very different from what I saw.

This painting is trying to convey the sense of conflict between dark and hope in the little boy's mind. On the left part of this painting is the shadow of that boy. You may wonder why there's nothing, even a facial feature, on his face. In fact, I have no idea what facial expression should be worn on his face. So I let the boy hugs a big smiling instead.

The author clearly introuduces the time, place of the art work.Let us have a little imagination on the art work.Later, the author tells us the traditions of Ancient Egypt and the metaphor behind the art work. This information not only makes us undrestand why the ancient Egyptians had done this art work but also helps uslearn more about Egypt, a mystical country. What’s more, the background music accompanies the audio of the author is very great! The music is full of national style!I think it is a great match! I like this audio tour very much!

I think that to be a great internet guide one must have an inviting voice and tone.

My reflections
The audio tour is different from others and it starts with a dialogue of introduced by Patty and Andy. In the beginning, we can hear the sound of horse’s running. It hints that this work describes the horse-riding culture and we can also take advantage of the sound to image the vigorous games. Secondly, the clothing and the motion are introduced. The rider is wearing the knee-length coat and trousers and is ready to grasp the horse. This is an excellent skill to attract the viewer’s attention to the details of the work. Besides, it also introduces the culture, era, and the difference between women and men. It stresses that the work is created through the reflection of the artist and the contemporary age. After appreciating this work and is listening to audio tour, I came to realizes that that good use of music with special effect, and inner culture can make great impression one viewers have deep impression.

During this audio tour,we can hear the music that matches the content of the introduction. When the author said the word “But now…,”the music stops. We can clearly know that this is the turning point! Moreover the auther told us the history of the clothes and the spirit behind the Caribou-skin Coat. The background information of the artwork helps recognize the characteristics of this art!

My reflections
This is a very simple audio tour, like the simplicity of the picture. I learn that this picture is a scene in the play, saying that the character is bewitched, and has to keep the flame burning all his life. The sound artist also uses some elements of the play and a Spanish narrative, to highlight his tour. On the one hand, this audio tour is full of variety and is not that boring. On the other hand, the sound artist seems to lack confidence, or maybe he is just too shy because the volume of his voice gets smaller and more hesitating near the end of the tour. In my opinion, the tone of the sound artist could be more affirmative. Furthermore, perhaps the sound artist could give more details about the background of the play. Since not everyone can understand Russian or has seen the play.

2. depict v.
3. allusion (n.
4. he didn’t clothe anything in terms of historical garb, but rather used outfits that were exactly contemporaneous to the event.
5. Propaganda (n.
6. Imperialism (n.
7. Pinpoint v.
8. Palette (n.
My reflections
This painting “The Death of General Wolfe” exhibited at first in 1771 is done by Benjamin West. It is important in Canadian history because this work describes a battle for Quebec between the British and the French. In this painting, General Wolfe, who led the British army, is dying happily because the messenger(who is on the left) is coming with news of the French having been defeated.
The Death of General Wolfe has many copies. The one in ROM is the fifth large copy. But the guide in the podcast says that people prefer a smaller one now because they can own them easily.
I noticed that General Wolfe’s face is whiter than others. It may be because he is losing too much blood and he was going to die. There is also an Indian in this painting. It is interesting for us to learn history from artworks!
