I was surrounded by artworks as soon as I entered Professor Tsai Gen’s home. Professor Tsai Gen said “To appreciate is to re-create.” After listening to his presentation, I was impressed by his ideas of art. He has been finding the balance of everything in life. He learned western art way when he was young, but the topics of his recent works were about eastern culture. He says that in eastern arts, the viewers are parts of the artworks, which is also a kind of balance compared with artists conveying messages without feedback in western arts.
I appreciate Professor Tsai Gen’s artworks of “Still Life”. The idea behind “Still Life” is that life is the origin of inspiration as long as we observe and perceive every moment. That is true, but few people have practiced it. From now on, I will live like an artist, perceiving the art of life.

To experience "still life" seems luxurious to people in this modern world. I have to remind myself to put aside the hassles in my life and take a stroll at the park and do housework. Quite often they are also the moment when the ideas for my projects appear. I enjoy the moments when I converse with the Muse of Art.
I like this ideas, “Still Life”, too. I think it's not only for artist, but for almost every person. Because everyone's life could be like an artwork, including your job, relationship, leisure activities, and etc. The most important isn't the material aspect, but the spirit, or in other words, how smooth your life could be.
